Knife edge cushions can be
considered the pillows of seating.
While usually only filled with 1"-1.5"
foam they provide short term comfort
to hard wooden chair seats, but can
bring a room to life with color and
personality.
The cushion to the right is considered a boxed
cushion. It is a more formal style cushion that
is commonly used on sofas, bench seats, and
window seat cushions.
The cushion to the left is a mockbox
cushion. It has the appearance of a
knife edge cushion, but because it is
more than 2" thick it has to have pleats
in the corners, which give the cushion
a side instead of an edge. Mockbox
cushions have a more casual look, and
are much more forgiving along the
edges, which make them a great
choice for wicker furniture.
